Yost Unleashes the High Evolutionary Journals – A Primer for New Warriors

New Warriors 1

With Chris Yost’s New Warriors #1 hitting stores on February 19th, Yost has decided to open the “High Evolutionary Journals”, a primer for his upcoming series.

Yost had this to say about his upcoming team book, which sees the return of Scarlet Spider and Aracely, along with Marvel main stays Nova, Justice, and Speedball to name a few:

“They’re eight people from different corners of the Marvel Universe, coming together to do the right thing, to be heroes,” says writer Christopher Yost, in an interview with Marvel.com. “They’re not kids, they’re not seasoned heroes for the most part, but they’re idealists. Sometime it’s okay to be a hero for the sake of being a hero; to be with a team because they’re your friends, because it’s fun.”
New Warriors 3“Sometimes the world just needs saving,”
“Evolution has gone off the rails. There are super humans, mutants, Inhumans, clones, aliens, and more everywhere you turn. Humanity no longer exists as the dominant life form on the planet. And not everyone is pleased! The High Evolutionary has raised an army to combat these “superior” beings – through complete extermination!
New Warriors 2“Now, Speedball, Justice, Nova, Scarlet Spider, Sun Girl, Hummingbird and more must stand together against the rising tide. Don’t miss a fresh start for the heroes of tomorrow this February in the exciting NEW WARRIORS #1!”

I got into comics with the clone saga back when I was a young'in and I can still remember having NO idea what was going on in that issue (Scarlet Spider Unlimited #1). I'm sure it will be referenced somehow in Yost's run.

If Kaine is on this team and they're going up against the High Evolutionary, I hope they address that he's a clone created by the Jackal who was HE's assistant. Don may cry if they refer back to Scarlet Spider Unlimited #1 (a retcon of a retcon), one of his favorite Clone Saga issues. :)
