You know, the reason Sunday comics are separate from the weekly ones is that not all newspapers get these in full packages, i.e. some only get the weekday ones. They try not to screw over the weekly folks by having the Sunday ones be integral to the plot. This is true of all strips, not just this one. Thus the double-headbutt.
If this really was the Managarie-a-Trois Stan explained it to be, wouldn’t Spidey have already won by killing everybody with his “radioactive army”?
