comic625oct30Do you have an extra $42,000 sitting around? That’s the opening bid for an 8.0 edition of Amazing Fantasy #15 in an upcoming auction.
Hundreds of comics were found in an abandoned basement in St. Charles, Missouri. The cost of the Spidey book is worth more than the house is being sold for on the market.
All the books are being sold in a two day auction. It started on Sunday and will conclude on Monday. Here is a link to all the books.

what moron left that many classic comics to be abandoned in a basement?! XD Oh, and I´m so sad that I don´t live in the US, and have lots of money, otherwise I might´ve had a shot at getting these…x_x

PS! I saw some DC Comics too in the picture, I think it was the Flash and the Green Lantern. Nice to see there is some variety, and not only Marvel comics, even though we all already know they kick ass :)

That is a sweet copy, and lots of great issues… ya think they’d take $5 a month payments? :-)

  4. #4 Sam Kerby says:

I live in St. Louis and almost went to the auction today just to say I saw it.
Sadly I had other commitments and could not go.

Oh man, don’t tell me this guy never moved out of his mothers basement!!! I can hear the nerd jokes now…

What a weird way to inherit $500,000. First the original collector dies, then his mother does not throw them out, (whew!!!) and a cousin gets them. A cousin? Seriously?
Wow, how lucky can you get? I wonder if the surviving cousin ever wondered if his cousin was a nerd? Probably does not matter now.

PS: Amazing Fantasy #15 went for $75,000 plus fees of $11k.
