In this trailer you can hear Christopher Daniel Barnes voice Spidey.

Thanks to Hollister For Mayor for pointing this out to me in the previous post. The game looks awesome!

Here’s what we know about the new 2010 Spider-Man video game.
1) It’s called Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions
2) Dan Slott is writing it
3) Christopher Daniel Barnes is voicing Spider-Man. He voiced him in the 1990s cartoon.
4) More information will be unveiled at Wondercon in early April.
5) Here’s an image for the forum at Hero HQ. It seems to support the theory that multiple Spider-Man personalities will be in the game. Spider-Man: Noir is in this image.

Not many people saw this cartoon back in 1999. It only lasted 13 episodes, but it’s now available to see online. What do you think of this cartoon?

In this episode we take questions from our message board. Some of the highlights include a discussion of changing the spider-man movie costume, we give our favorite spider-man theme song and JR gives his thoughts on what Marvel should have done with Norman Osborn in Dark Reign and Siege.
And the best question is “If all the panel were a hair band, what would our name be and our first radio hit be?” We also give our recommendations for the month.

Put your back into it MJ. It seems some model thought it’d be fun to re-create this statue. Add a funny caption in the comment section.

There’s a new podcast on the block and it’s a good one. Our buddy Jon Wilson has started Amazing Spider-Man Classics. He’s reviewing every spider-comic and starting with Amazing Fantasy #15. So he’s guaranteed at least 620+ episodes.

I would like to thank everyone who sent in a sample review. I appreciate everyone that wants to help out with the site. However, Gerard’s review was just spot on. I like his writing style and he’s promised to have the reviews up quickly. Heck, he just got the job today and has already posted his first review.
He even said he could possibly get the reviews up the day they come out in the comic shops. So it’s with great pleasure that I welcome Gerard to the review staff. Welcome buddy, now get ready for all the pro and con comments that come with the reviews. Just ask Michael Bailey that people don’t  hold back when you’ve got the main title.

Update: The position has been filled. More news to come.

This job doesn’t come up that often, so get your submissions in as soon as you can. Our friend Michael Bailey just has too much work on his plate and is stepping down as the reviewer of Amazing Spider-Man. This has nothing to do with the quality of the book, he just has a lot of work with his podcasts and website. He felt it wasn’t fair for the reviews to be several weeks late. In his tenure he’s reviewed Amz # 580-624. That’s a hell of a lot of books, so thank you to him for all of that hard work.
If you think  you can handle the weekly job send me a sample review to my e-mail.
The ideal person will get the book on that Wednesday and have the review posted by the weekend. The sooner the better. Also I’m looking for someone that has an opinion on the book. I don’t want a blow by blow account of what happened in the book. In the past reviews the “Plot” should just take a couple lines. I want the most time spent on the likes and dislikes. Check out some of the previous AMZ reviews to see the format. Good luck and send those reviews in as soon as you can!

Like podcasts? Well here are a few to get you through the weekend or the start of Spring Break. Clone Saga Chronicles released two podcast episodes this week. Earlier in the week, our big episode looking at the big issue 400 of “Amazing” was released. Come here to download it.

Another episode was released today where the panel took a look at “The Mark of Kaine” and the conclusion the “Clone Saga” mini-series. It’s an extra sized episode that includes a surprise guest at the end who will be no stranger to regular visitors of the Crawlspace. Come here to download it.

Bertone and Donovan also joined Jon Wilson for a new podcast called “Amazing Spider-Man Classics”. The first episode came out this week. Check it out here.

And in case you missed it, scrowl down a few more entries because less than 24 hours ago Brad Douglas posted the latest episode of the Spider-Man Crawlspace Podcast. You won’t want to miss that one.

Who knew actress Kirsten Dunst aka Mary Jane could sing? Well the gang thinks that’s a debatable topic. She’s singing the song “Turning Japanese” and the group reviews her performance. Other topics on the show include Amazing Fantasy #15 and Action Comics going for record prices at auctions. And what type of person spends millions on a comic. Also Spider-Girl is getting a chance at a solo book again and is Ben Reilly far behind? And we present the 2009 Crawlie Awards. Which comic creators did the best and worst work? It’s the academy awards of comics. For  “This Month in Spider-History” we visit March 1977 and spotlight Stegron the Dinosaur Man. We also work in reviews of Amazing Spider-Man # 620-622. The grades are all over the place this month.

“Galactus A-Go-Go…”

Writer: Paul Tobin
Penciler: Patrick Scherberger
Inker: Terry Pallot

The Situation So Far…

The third issue of Tobin & Scherberger’s ‘Spider-Man & the Secret Wars’ revisits Secret Wars #9, where Galactus makes his move towards “eating” the Beyonder’s battleworld and the Marvel heroes try an all-out assault to stop him.

This third issue goes off-the-chart on the Getting-It-Wrong-O-Meter.  The first two issues were at least passable in regards to the original story.  Here, however, Tobin just starts making stuff up out of nowhere.  Suddenly Spidey’s not black and white, someone’s taking hallucinogenic love drugs and Starbuck and Boomer are chicks.

Wait, what?  Spoilers below…

Always remember gravity folks!

Hey folks, I’m not one to be outdone, (By the great Kevin Cushing) But I’ve been sitting on this issue for awhile, and I wanted to get this book out. So without Further adieu, here’s Crawl Space Avengers #6!

“If It’s Not Broke…”

Writer: Paul Tobin
Penciler: Patrick Scherberger
Inker: Terry Pallot

When Last We Met…

The second installment of Spider-Man & the Secret Wars was out awhile back and I am late with the reviews of this issue and with #3 (which is coming tomorrow).  I can only plead work in my defense and throw myself on the mercy of the court of Spidey-fandom.

I get what Tobin & Scherberger are going for here.  I really and truly do.  It’s like they’re trying to find a mesh of how the original Secret Wars went down and *ahem* ‘marry that’ with all the recent character devolution that’s taken place in the pages of Amazing Spider-Man in the last couple of years.  Or in other words trying to find a way to make the Spider-Man of the original Secret Wars seem less seasoned and responsible (or in Marvel Speak “old and dying”) and more immature and annoying (or in Marvel Speak “young and fresh.”)  Anyone reading Spider-Man for more than ten years knows better and anyone who might pick up the original Secret Wars in trade paperback or back issues after having read this mini-series first might find “the Two Peters” a jarring contrast.  Spoilers below…

The heroes unite, the reign of Norman Osborn meets its end, and a lot of very big things fall apart.  It’s all in yet another chapter of Marvel’s latest event.  Is Siege worth your attention?  Read the review to find out!
