I found this on the people of wal mart website. It seems the whole staff dressed up as Marvel characters. Leave a funny caption in the comment section.
Marvel’s mid-80′s Secret Wars introduced us to a couple of interesting new villains by way of the Denver, Colorado suburb that got pulled onto the Beyonder’s Battle World: Titania (Mary “Skeeter” MacPherran) and her best friend Volcana (Marsha Rosenberg).
Created by Jim Shooter and Mike Zeck, Volcana and Titania were meant to stir the pot on the villain-side of the war and were given their powers by Doctor Doom himself. The two had varying experiences in the Secret Wars but both returned to Earth with new boyfriends. While Volcana became the girlfriend of the Molecule Man, Titania found common interests with Crusher Creel, the Absorbing Man.
Volcana and Owen’s relationship didn’t last too long after the Secret Wars but Titania and Absorbing Man are a different story. And in the winter of ’86 the lovebirds would come into conflict with Spider-Man in Amazing Spider-Man #283 (‘With Foes Like These’ by Tom DeFalco & Ron Frenz).
To truly understand this fight and why Titania is so terrified of Spider-Man we must start our fight in Secret Wars #8. That’s really where Round One begins and ends.
Word Association #1: What’s this?! Something new?! Yes, yes it is. How does this work? Simple; I look at the cover of the issue that I am reviewing and spit out the first five things that I think of. Play along, if you’d like! Here we go:

Cat-Ape
Underestimated
Chemistry?
Cluster ****
Enjoy the review, and be sure to leave your comments below. There’s no telling how long I will remain on this book. I think I can hear Brad writing my pink slip as we speak!
The Hollywood Reporter claims to have a short list of 5 actors being considered for the role of Spider-Man in the upcoming reboot movie. Newsarama posted the info and thankfully added headshots of the actors to help illustrate just how awful these choices really are. Seriously – awful.
Click on the article above for the photos and some idea of who these people are, since you probably don’t recognize any of these names (for good reason).
The Spider-Panel has some fun topics this month. We discuss a real-life Spider-Man stopping a thief on Free Comic Book Day. We also share our thoughts on Iron Man 2. And we give our two cents on the upcoming Spider-man porn parody. We don’t forget the reviews, we hit up Amazing Spider-Man # 628 and 629. And with comic book movies making billions at the box office, is it cool to be a geek? We discuss it all in this episode.

Here we are, at the Dark Reign saga’s finale and the post-Civil War Marvel Universe’s culmination. What’s Norman Osborn’s fate? Where do our heroes stand in the new world order? Is the comic any good? Find answers to these questions and more within!
Continuing this month with Jeffrey Taylor (co-host of From Crisis to Crisis: A Superman Podcast), Jon, Bertone, and the Donmeister bring to you the unfolding saga of Betty Brant! Innuendo abounds, both concerning siblings and tentacles! From the House of Ideas, because you demanded it!
Interesting Tidbit Vol. 5 #1: Kang the Conqueror first appeared in AVENGERS #8 and ranks as the 85th comic book villain of all time. Before becoming Kang, he was Nathaniel Richards, a scholar born in the 30th century. Living in a perfect society bored Richards and he became fascinated with history and discovered the time travel technology created by one of his ancestors, Victor Von Doom. He has gone up against the Avengers on numerous occasions, as well as Spider-Man, the Human Torch, and the Inhumans.
Ah, another Friday means another fight. Spidey Friday Night Fights, that is! Welcome back Spider-sports fans and please join us ringside for Spider-Man vs. Luke Cage in a fisticuffs version of “First Contact.”
This one takes us back to the August of 1973. I was 13 months old (sleeping and pooping myself a lot) and living in a nice, modest home in Irving, Texas. Secretariat had won the Triple Crown, the U.S. Senate was conducting hearings on the Watergate scandal and the Commies were launching probes at Mars.
And in the pages of Amazing Spider-Man Gwen Stacy had just met her doom on the George Washington Bridge, courtesy of Norman “Redefining Crazy” Osborn. In fact our featured issue tonight (Amazing Spider-Man #123, ‘Just A Man Called Cage!’ by Gerry Conway, Gil Kane & “Jazzy” Johnny Romita) even shows with Gwen’s funeral.
So as if it’s not enough that Peter Parker just had to bury his girlfriend J. Jonah Jameson decides to pay Luke “Hero for Hire” Cage $5,000 to capture or kill Spider-Man. Tempest in a Teapot? Try Train in a Tornado, bud.
At this point in time Luke Cage had been in his own Marvel book for about a year and hadn’t yet run into the Wallcrawler. But all that was about to change in a two-fisted opera of pain. What follows isn’t pretty. It’s two strong, determined men that never quit going at it in a pugilistic Clash of the Titans. So what better way to celebrate the start of summer than with a bout where Spidey gets fought to standstill?
Our Crawl Space correspondent Bertone had a chance to talk to Amazing Spider-Man writer Fred Van Lente. He asks several questions from our Crawl Space message board. Some of the highlights include him talking about the controversial Chameleon/ Michelle Gonzales storyline, his love for Morbius, and what would Peter Parker be doing if he wasn’t bit a spider? It’s a fun interview and Van Lente gave some great answers.

The boys go over the notorious episode “The Uncertainty Principle” and discuss aerial acrobatics, Harry Osborn and the revealed identity of the Green Goblin!
The gang welcomes Jeffery Taylor O’Brien this month as they tackle the first appearance of Electro! Whaddya mean his origin makes no sense? Don’t you know anything about science?!
Finding Spider-Man stuff for girls is proving to be very hard. Marvel, take a cue from DC’s Supergirl and start putting out Spider-Girl items! However, I did find this on ebay and just had to order it for my baby girl Ava. Isn’t it cute!!!
Gametrailers.com visited Beenox studio in Canada to talk to the designers of the new Spider-Man: Shattered Diminsions game. It looks very cool! Also in this episode they talk to Stan Lee about the new Superhero Squad MMO online game. This is the whole episode so you may need to fast forward a bit.
The Clone-Heads are all in full swing this month as they go over the wackness that is the Holodisc issues! Gwen Stacy is back, and so is her bridge. Is it Miles Warren, or Warren Miles? Judas Traveler continues to annoy and a new Green Goblin is introduced, all in this new episode!

You guys kept demanding it – coverage of one of Spider-Man’s landmark fights. A fight of such incredible magnitude that other fights are often judged against it. A fight that becomes the stuff of fabled legend. A fight from a story told from generation to generation. A fight that makes being a Spider-Man fan feel like E P I C W I N.
Here at the Spidey FNF Network, we call those Hall of Fame Fights. And tonight, Crawl Spacers, you’re lucky enough to bear witness to a real doozy. Tonight’s fight comes from Amazing Spider-Man #269 (“Burn Spider, Burn”) and #270 (“The Hero and the Holocaust”) from the October & November of 1985.
This was a magical time for me. I was in eighth grade. The Chicago Bears were juggernauting their way to a Superbowl victory. Voltron sent me to school every morning and G.I. Joe, Transformers and Robotech ruled the cartoon-space in the afternoons. And the Amazing Spider-Man was enjoying a banner decade courtesy of Roger Stern, John Romita Jr., Tom DeFalco and Ron Frenz. In fact the Firelord fight itself is a DeFalco/Frenz production.
Bear with me as I try to detail why this particular story became the stuff Spider-Dreams are made of. It came during a time of high intrigue, drama and awesomeness for Spider-Man. The Hobgoblin was still ruling the roost villain-wise, Silver Sable & Puma had just appeared on the scene and Mary Jane revealed to Peter that she knew that he was Spider-Man. So in the middle of all that addictive, four-colored crazy DeFalco and Frenz dropped an even crazier bomb. “We interrupt all this craziness for even more craziness. Breaking your brain in 5… 4… 3… 2… 1…”
