So the Avengers are down and the world’s leaders are about to agree to Doc Ock’s terms, but Spidey’s saved at the last minute by Silver Sable and he teams up with her and Black Widow to try to shut the operation down. There are some plot points that don’t make a whole lot of sense here, which is nothing unexpected when it comes to one of Slott’s tangled event storylines. And Ramos is back on art in this issue. Oh joy.

Hey everyone. I’m playing catchup after getting a couple weeks behind due to about the worst case of flu I ever came down with and the fact that I’m trying to deal with upcoming finals. Let me take this moment to apologize to for these couple tardy reviews I’m now posting. I’ll be officially caught up once these are posted, and back on track for next issue!

Ends of the Earth starts getting into the action now, resulting in a much less convoluted and far more coherent issue than the last one. There’s a lot more Saturday morning cartoon in this and a lot less apocalyptic babbling. It’s a step in the right direction, but it’s still got work to do before I’ll feel invested in this story, and it’s still bogged down by a slightly confusing attempt at couching it in real-world issues and political figures — but, if you’ve always wanted to see Spider-Man punch Al Gore, then look no further.

The Omega Effect Begins Here!  Avenging Spider-Man #6 is the first of a three-issue crossover between this book, Mark Waid’s Daredevil, and Greg Rucka’s Punisher.  Naturally, the two writers have teamed up to bring us this line-spanning tale, which will continue with Punisher #10 and end with Daredevil #11 (both of which I’ll be covering in the near future).

I had some reservations coming into this crossover.  The last time Spidey and DD teamed up didn’t exactly leave the best of impressions to our resident ASM reviewers.  Will adding Rucka into the mix make for more balanced characterization?  Read on to find out!

Avengers Assemb—, I’m sorry, I just don’t have the drive to finish that rallying cry these days. The Avengers should be on the top of the world right now. They’re starring in this summer’s most anticipated movie, have a popular cartoon show, but I can’t support their fight with Cyclops and the X-Men in the pages of the comics. In case you couldn’t tell from the AvX reviews so far, I’m firmly in the X-Camp. But this little quarrel between the two teams isn’t enough to keep me from playing the greatest Facebook game ever created: Avengers Alliance! I’ve been consumed by that game so Shaun and I recently explored this obsession during the latest MMA Podcast (episode available soon). Continuing to spotlight ladies who love Spidey!

Would you like to see a beer drinking, chain smoking Spidey with a bit of male pattern baldness? It’d still be better than Web of Spider-Man # 25

There are new 3.5 inch and 6 inch Miles Morales figures coming to a store near you. Here’s some pics.

Evidently you can bake Spidey onto your pizza. Weird huh?

There’s always money in the banana stand. That doesn’t really have anything to do with this review, but to begin this little intro I wanted to borrow a quote from one of the best written shows out there, Arrested Development. I’m watching the show once again on Netflix so all the running gags and witty jokes are fresh in my mind. But this is supposed to be a comic book review… So now the story of a dangerous criminal who’s about to lose everything and the one nephew who had no choice but to keep his family together. It’s Arachnid Development.

Don is celebrating 23 years of being Spider-Fan and great guy. He’s been invaluable to the Crawlspace. He’s the reviewer of the Amazing Spider-Man title and various Spidey cartoons,he’s a regular on the podcast ,  and also all around awesome friend. However, he once called me out on the podcast about the Black Cat. So I’m taking this chance to get even and I’m putting him in a milk bath. LOL Happy birthday buddy! Please give him some birthday wishes in the comment section.
