The introduction to Mattie Franklin from “Amazing Spider-Man” issue 441 . This was the final issue of the series before it was rebooted to back to issue 1 and we are straight in the middle of the “Gathering of the Five/Final Chapter” mess. As some of us know, Mattie had a role in the recent “Grim Hunt” storyline so be warned of spoilers in the comment section!

actually i prefer the original spider-woman the best.
and that goes for her original origin too.. what is cooler than a spider evolved into a humane… thats just awesome..
Kind of a waste of a character, if you ask me. Considering her power base, I still have huge problems with the way the little 12 year old Kraven kid was able to handle all the Spider-folk….
I liked Mattie, i may be in the minority, but i found her the most appealing of the Spider-Women…but the character that intrigued me the most out of the Gathering storyline, was Mattie’s father…a friend of both Norman Osborn and Marla Madison…i always wanted to know more about him and it was interesting to see only a few degrees of separation btn Marla and Norman that didn’t involve Jonah…
I’m amazed a character who was introduced during this period stuck around so long….
Well… if anything, the number of comments shows just how many people cared…
SPOILER: She’s dead. Oh snap.
