I want one!!
I wonder where you would have used something like this. Considering the 12 cent price tag, it must have been 1969 or before, assuming the posters on Wikipedia are correct on their Silver Age of Comics page. Maybe they were at Mom and Pop stores? The machine’s pretty cool, though.
Just looked it up and found this image: the writer of a blog called Neato Coolville says “The dealer who owns the machine said it came from an ice cream shop somewhere in Kansas City.” Makes sense. I like that better than my original idea: that maybe these were installed in truck stops, right next to the cigarette vending machines. Maybe that happened, too. Get both your vices in one go.
