THR is reporting that Drew Goddard has been named as the director of the Sinister Six movie. He was previously hired to write the screenplay,but will now director the film.
It focuses on Spider-Man’s villains who have yet to be named. However if you go by the comics that consists of Doc Ock, Electro, Mysterio, Vulture, Sandman and Kraven.
Goddard is also the Executive Director of the Netflix Daredevil show. Goddard made his directoral depubt with a movie called “Cabin in the Woods.” He also has written for television those shows include Alias, Lost, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He also wrote films which include World War Z and Cloverfield.

Having read this I believed it was really enlightening.

The obvious choice is the Black Cat, but I don’t think she can sustain her own comic book, let alone her own movie (sorry Brad).

I can’t speak for DC, but this is Sony doing this, not Marvel. They are limited by the characters in the Spider-Man universe. If there was a credible female in the Spider-Man movie universe they could spin off into their own movie, I bet they would do it in a heartbeat, anything to keep making Spider-Man related movies and keep the rights.

If I may point out the utter absurdity of the whole thing for a second, Think about this. Marvel/DC act like they are now scared to take a chance on a superhero movie with a female lead. *coughwonderwomancough* And yet they’ll try something so desperate as a movie headed by not one villain, but a whole group?
The funniest thing wil be listening to them give any excuse for it besides the obvious.

I know, I know, it’s so obvious, but it needs to be stated again. This SO reeks of desperation. We CAN’T lose the rights to Spider-Man!!!!! Come up with something!!!!
Even though I am suspect of a Sinister Six movie working, I had the same misgivings about Superior Foes of Spider-Man which has turned out to be an great book, so who knows.
And The Cabin in the Woods was awesome, very smart and funny and self-referential to horror movie cliches, so this may be just what an SS movie needs.
