I love how Norman acts like he only just came up with the idea to make his costume green, even though he’d already made the mask that colour, surely any colour other than green (and the purple that’s also there) would’ve just clashed?
I think this issue is one of the greats, if only for all the amazing stuff it set in motion. It’s definitely where the Goblin started becoming Spidey’s archenemy in my opinion, finding out his identity and getting a great backstory of his own really elevated him.
I mentioned this panel to JR in a message board podcast once and asked if there was ever an in-universe explanation as to why the Goblin costume also contains purple, if green is Norman’s favorite color. He didn’t have an answer.
