I thought this was the case. It was a good call. Watching in retrospect, it was a horrible depiction of aboriginals, even though I like the Clivington character.
In Canada we have a channel called Teletoon, which is like the Canadian equivalent of the Cartoon Network in the US. Several years ago, Teletoon started airing the 60s Spider-Man series, however they left one episode out of the rotation and never aired it, and this one is it. I emailed the station inquiring why, and they told me that upon review, they decided the depiction of the aboriginal person in “The One Eyed Idol” might be offensive, so they decided to simply not air it. Teletoon now has a station dedicated to old school animation now called Teletoon Retro which airs the series now, but I am unsure if they still leave this episode out.
