I remember reading this when I was like 8 or 9 and just loving it. Gotta love classic DeFalco and Frenz in the 1980s! It’s a scene from the classic team up in Amazing Spider-Man # 269 & 270.

Spidey Memories#98
I found this while doing research for a future project. It’s from “Spectacular Spider-Man” issue 22 and the first panel may be one of the most offensive stereotypical things I’ve seen.

I too love this aspect of Spidey! His sheer willpower to never give up despite the odds. He took the Juggernaut out with this same determined attitude, an attitude which I think was first clearly exhibited in issue #33, The Final Chapter! Maybe someday he’ll get Mesphito too! Thanks for the reminder, Brad, and as always thanks too for this most excellent Spidey site!
Captain America: Spider-Man, STOP!!! You can’t beat Firelord!
Spidey: Wanna bet!?!?
I love it… by the time they break up the fight, he already beat him!!
I agree with you wholeheartedly Brad. The 80s run of Spidey with Frenz and DeFalco was tremendous. Primo selection here with Firelord.
And this is why I hate it when people think spiderman has no place with the big leagues when he took that beast down by his wit, aglity smarts. That’s why I hate it when spidey is treated like a amature. Guggenheim is guilty with him and jackpot losing a thug or at this snice even that issue by blade when he managed to have a vampire take a bite on him snice we know spidey has experience fighting vampires before especially by morbius.
Absolutely love this issue! Showed you what Spidey can do when he finally lets go.
Good choice, Brad!
