1. Do You Fear…LOSING MORE B-LIST AND SECONDARY CHARACTERS IN OVER THE TOP DEATHS AND BRUTALITY IN A SHITTY ASS CROSSOVER EVENT!?

   Mr Quesada was speaking, like so many of us do, without thinking about everything he was saying. It probably hasn’t even crossed his mind that all he does, is reminding fans about what they’ve done, and why.

7. Did he really say, “what makes Spider-Man so relatable is that he goes through all of the same things many of us do whether it’s going to school, losing his girlfriend, his marriage…” ?

   What exactly did he mean by that? I don’t actually mean to be snarky – I’m honestly confused.
   I do agree that what makes Spidey relatable is that he goes through many of the things we do – but has the added stress of being a superhero. ‘Losing’ the marriage simply does not fit on this list.
   We all had to go to school. Pete had all of those stresses but also had to juggle his secret identity.
   Probably all of us have had to endure the end of romantic relationships. Pete didn’t just lose his girlfriend but feels personally responsible for her death (and has no one he can talk to about it). Again, he endures an increased pressure and suffering of what we all felt – but we can still relate because it is our pain blown up to superhuman proportions.

   But the marriage? I’m still happily married, but that doesn’t stop me from feeling for those people I know who have had a marriage end. But Pete and MJ’s marriage didn’t end – it retroactively never was. How can any of us possible relate to that?
   In point of fact, this is exactly why I find the current incarnation so UNrelatable.
   Pete had a marriage ‘end’ but never had to go through a divorce or any of the myriad of stresses that come along with it. Instead of having Peter deal with super-sized versions of issues that many of us face – he completely avoided any ramifications of the end of his marriage through a magical rewriting of history. How exactly does this make him relatable?

   Was Mr. Quesada perhaps trying to be funny? Intentionally pointing out how incongruous this statement was?
   I really don’t get it.

8. Im looking forward to this as a Fraction fan, i mean i really like Bendis but he is on burnout right now. But we dont need another event ,dont get me wrong im interested in it with the premise to an extent, but we just need a few years with no events so everything can have nice progress on their own. I mean techinly Shadowland and Fall of the Hulks were events. We just need a break.

   Plus at a time when people are struggling to afford comics as is, its not going to be helped though having to by the actualy event title, despite what Breevort just saying you can by the main title and fully understand, if thats the case then that in its self there is no need to have tie ins.

   And extinition event? Even if people die aint going to matter anyways since they will all be back.

   ‘WE’ don’t, no. But dislike it though you may others are apt to bring up the deal with the devil now and then. Just because it’s not a big thing for you or because you hate hearing it doesn’t mean others can no longer talk about it, joking or otherwise.

   You can talk about whatever you’d like. The rest of us will do the same.

11. In the beginning, Quesada was talking about the economy and people losing their homes, but Marvel is still going to charge $3.99-$5.99 or so for the issues. I doubt I’m going to pick this up.

14. I’d prefer the joke never have a basis for existing in the first place but as it is now it’s funny “because it’s true.” It’s not funny “ha ha.” It’s funny “God what a terrible mess.”

16. I’m personally interested in this and; no offense to Bendis since I like his writing; I’m glad he isn’t writing another event book. It’s about time someone different wrote “the next big thing”.

    Okay, even I’m slightly getting tired of hearing that.

20. Seems like Civil War 2 tbh. In that Marvel tackles relevant issues…with SCIENCE!

    I dunno, I believe in Matt Fraction so this shouldn’t be stupid, but no one ever demands that comic books tackle real world situations. So when it’s hyped up that they do, you get the feeling that there is a discernable disconnect between creators and their audience.
