  1. Can’t really say that I find this costume all that interesting. Not bashing the design or anything, but I can’t really say I’ve seen a costume that high-lights the arm-pits like that before (though that might be the pose).

  2. “What kind of foe would prompt Spider-Man to suit up in this high-powered costume?”

    Oh….maybe declining sales?

  3. We know the real reason behind these new costumes…they are running out of variants for upcoming waves of Marvel Universe figures. Each wave has a token Spidey and Iron Man variant.

  4. Ooh, I like the white hair. Makes Spidey look sort of … older, more mature. Maybe they are aiming the comic at an older audience now.

Didn’t I read in some Dan Slott interview that Humberto Ramos designed the suit?! But now Marcos Martin is drawing it? I’m really losing track with all these artists popping in and out …

  5. I honestly hate martins artpeople praise humblest and right but it honsetly sickens me to stare at his pages I don’t mind the costume but the Art style just is not worth staring at for too long

  6. Its a nice, fresh design. But…what is the point? He just got a new costume today (Amazing #650), so how the blazes can Marvel actually expect us to care about another one?

  7. You’d think Pete could come up with something more appealing seeing as he did spend all that time with a supermodel “ex”. And seeing as they’re “friends” now, you’d think MJ would maybe veto this one.

  8. Y’know, there’s nothing stopping Peter from adapting the classic red-n-blue pattern into various new formats. Instead, this reminds me of Roddenberry forcing Nimoy as Spock to award another character some sort of medal, because it was a new ST toy out in the stores.

These appearance-changing events also remind me a little of Electric Superman.

  9. I don’t love it but I don’t hate it. I’m sure it would be temporary. If the design has some neat science ideas of Peter’s and show off his ability to beat a villain by using this specific armor and some thing it does to win the fight than I would be for it. I wouldn’t want it permanently but I wouldn’t mind them showing off his science skills more. If it is just superficial to make him look different to boost interest than that would suck.

  10. Now that peter got his own Spider-Cave, he got to have many Spider-suit to match. After the way he has been acting in grim hunt and origin of a specie, i wouldnt be surprise if the spidermobil comes back, he get “spider-girl” (ARANA) as a sidekick and finaly install nipples on his costumes…

  11. ANOTHER new suit? What is with all these new suits appearing all of a sudden? Has the identity Crises story popped back up again?

Seriously though, I hope that a good story is going to be told with these suits.

  12. It’s certainly different. I’ll wait until I see it in a few more scenes before ultimately making up my mind. But after seeing this cover I’m not excited about it.

  13. Something is putting me off on this costume. I think it’s the yellow, or the way the light is hitting the mask making it look real shiny on top.

  14. Really like the costume, but does every promo have to work in the words “BIG TIME” now?

“Boy, I usually only get this excited when they say the title of the movie in the movie.”
“These drug dealers represent a CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER to the United States.”
    “Ahhhhh! He said it!”

  15. So is this the third time that Spider-Armor has been unleashed? That is if you count the “Iron Spidey” outfit during the JMS run. Any others I am missing?

  16. I don’t think new costumes are going to help sales. we have all seen the sales charts, the only thing that ever brings up the numbers is good writing and being that no new readers have jumped on for big time so far I doubt they are going to in December.

  17. I actually like the costume the costume for tomorrow’s ASM, but I am not a fan of this costume…..however, I am interested to see how the storyline for all of these new costumes pans out.

  18. Ok…
This one makes me like the Green Lantern Spidey.

Don’t have a problem with it story wise. I just don’t like the design.
However I did say the same thing when the armored Spidey costume was released.
It wasn’t until I saw a different artists interpretation that I started to love it.

  19. I actually don’t mind it. Obviously not over the classic suit or the Black suit, but they’ve had worse

  20. I don’t really care for the new look, but to be honest, I don’t usually like seeing Spider-Man in any armored suit. The original red-and-blue Spidey suit is just fine, in my opinion.

  21. That’s one fugly outfit …

By the way, they’ve now traded one cheap sales-boosting gimmick (variants) for another (new costumes). Let’s see if this one loses effectiveness as quickly as the first.

  22. You have got to be kiiding me!! They have absolutely no new ideas. So he’s single now, Joe, and nothing new can actually happen.
