  1. Listening to another of George’s ridiculous anti-hippy rants it amazes me that you still think it appropriate to pepper your ‘Spider-Man podcast’ with ignorant and bigoted right wing statements. Why? Seriously; what do you gain from associating yourself with intolerant, extremist political opinions and alienating large portions of your existing, or potential, audience? The only thing worse than being ignorant is being proud of being ignorant. George Berryman’s continuous proud displays of political intolerance and ill-informed characterisation of the opinions of people that he disagrees with are an embarrassment. The fact that he does it with such pompous self-assurance makes his odious bullying tactics even more reprehensible. Nobody ever attempts to challenge the casual extremism that is so often displayed on a podcast that is supposed to be about Spider-Man comics. I want to listen to this podcast, but you make it so hard to enjoy by allowing the unchallenged dissemination of bigotry.

  2. I’m DLing the episode now, but just to chime in on the blerb: I think Marvel has a harder time creating legacy characters because, as opposed to DC, the actual character is more important and interesting the superhero persona they take on.

  3. Point taken. I’ll make the questions shorter next time.

    And ain’t Karma a b****, George?

  4. I find it surprising George thought curby designed spideys costume and and steve. I thought it was pretty comon knowledge that Steve got the spider-man gig becase Stan didn’t like what Kirby designed feeling that the character ended up looking like the usual superhero model at the time which he didn’t want(aparently no full facial mask and a web gun were amongst the things in this design). He scrapped that and gave it to steve who came up with th costume we all know and love and specifically chose a mask that covered the whole face feeling it made the character look more mysteriouse.

  5. I’ve lost track of the number of ways I’m cursing Brad today. All are gruesome.
