Eddie Brock is back — and trying to be a hero. Now he just needs to prove it to Spider-Man. So this new hero gig is going to be a tough sell. And though he lost his legs, Flash never lost his dignity — or his desire to serve. Now, the government has offered him a chance to be a hero once again — to don the alien symbiote that grants its wearer powers similar to those of Spider-Man, but also puts them at risk of permanently bonding with the parasitic creature. Flash Thompson is Venom, the government’s most lethal special operative — sent into the hottest of hot zones against the worst enemies of the state. He’s fought tough foes before, but the toughest opponent he faces may just be himself. Collecting VENOM (2011) #1-5.

  1. @ Javi: Okay, correction:rarely. But you all get the picture.
@Enigma: That armor needs to go away is what it needs to.

  2. New to the site (only a couple weeks), just got back into collecting comics again, but man, i REALLY like this type of post. I have gone back a bit in your posts here and haven’t seen a similar one, any chance this will be a regular thing each month?

  3. Aw my book I review is being cancelled 🙁

Im excited about that graphic novel collection with Parrelel lives and all that. I havent read those stories

  4. just saw the Ultimate cover! Is that REALLY supposed to be the same Scorpion from the Clone Saga???

  5. People relax! Norman isn´t going to turn into the avengers equivalent of the super-skrull. Cause when has comic covers EVER represented what´s inside the comic itself? 🙂 Unless they are about to(which highly improbable as it may be) which would make me scared..

  6. @AbdulAziz-
I’m worried this arc could be worse than Siege and I didn’t think that was possible. I have no idea what that cover is saying/trying to say about how Norman will take their powers, but that looks really corny to me if its literal. The suit is a little Tron meets Green Lantern, which just adds to the ridiculousness…

Norman already has the healing factor like Wolverine from the Goblin Formula, what does he care about the claws for anyway…And if Norman could cast spells like Strange he’ll turn into Dormammu…

  7. ultimate scorpion returns!!!! peter parker IS ALIVE!!! he just happens to be an insane clone whose body is attached to a giant scorpion tail. hells yes.

  8. So now they’re releasing the Ultimate Spider-Man Omnibus? I mean, that’s cool and all, but I finally got the first three Ultimate Collections, and then this? Whatever, I’m not getting it, so I’ll just wait for the next three Ultimate Collections, because those are going to come sooner and be much cheaper than waiting for the second Omnibus.

  9. @Doc Folsome: I didn’t know that
Wolverine’s DNA gives someone claws? What stupid storytelling is that? Healing factor would be acceptable, but claws? Did he become the son of Logan all of a sudden?
DNA affects radiation that affected the eyes directly? Really? But Osborn won’t be blind?

    SUCKS MAN, THAT SUCKS

  10. Wow…I was hoping that was NOT the direction they were going to take Osborn and his DNA capturing plans…He’s going to be a Spidey/Wolverine/DD/Doc Strange hybrid-powered machine. Whats the difference btn that and the various Skrulls the Avengers faced during Secret Invasion?!? The Skrulls had all the heroes’ powers and look how well it worked for them! I’m sure there will be no stopping him this time…

Or perhpas that cover is not representative of the content inside…just like the last NA cover…we’ll see I guess.

  11. Upper left corner: Johnny returning means Spidey is no longer a foundation member?

Lower left corner: It kinda looks like Spider-Man is standing on top of a middle finger

  12. Houston? Kaine moves to Houston? Cable’s back and out to take down Wolverine and Spidey? And what the hell is up with that pic of X-Force Wolverine and Black Costume Spider-man taking on Colossus? You know what? I’m going back to sleep and deal with this information tomorrow when I’m not so damn tired.

    ~Lament~
