  1. They call it an “event” so they can hype it up and get people interested. Its as much as an “event” as “New Ways to Die”. Its a 6-issue story arc with Spidey and friends fighting lots of bad guys, globe-trotting adventure, saving the world, that kind of thing.

  2. Haven’t they already confirmed that there won’t be any tie-ins to Ends Of The Earth? No issues of other series, no special mini-series, just the arc in Amazing. So it’s not really an “event” in the sprawling gotta-buy-a-load-of-other-comics sense, just a heavily advertised ASM storyline.

  3. @5, it is not event, but clearly “an epic”…just like issue #164 is “The Final Hour” for the Kingpin…or is it Spider-Man? Or just another horribly silly solicitations…got it!

  4. I don’t get why the Avengers have to be involved in this. I get that it’s supposed to hype up the movie, but anyone who would go see it should have an idea if they will or not, and I doubt putting them in a lot of the comics will changed anything. If it serves a purpose beyond advertising the movie, then that would be fine.

  5. I never understood the “why is everything an event” comment about Ends of the Earth. Spider-Island ended in September. Since then, we’ve returned to normal Spider-Man stuff. We just got a two-part Vulture story, a one-off Sinister Six issue, a two-issue crossover with Daredevil, a two-part time travel story, we’ve got a point one Morbius/Lizard story coming up, and then a two part Spider-Man in space story. That’s NINE MONTHS worth of smaller scale stories. I think that’s a pretty good ratio.

  6. Why does everything have to be an event? This is turning into early to mid 90s Spider-Man again …
