Superhero Hype, as well as several other news websites have confirmed that Dane DeHaan is officially cast as Harry Osborn for ASM 2. DeHaan’s recent film work include Chronicle and Lawless.
UPDATE: According to the official press release transcribed by SHH as well as Comingsoon.net, Jaimie Foxx and Shailene Woodley are confirmed to be in the cast as Electro and Mary Jane Watson respectively.

This actor kind of looks like the version of Harry from the old MTV Spider-Man show.
I wrote elsewhere that I would love it if they deliberately blew everybody’s minds by not killing Gwen, and turned the whole current series into an alt-universe “What If?” Basically because it’s a bummer already knowing what’s going to happen to Gwen. Star Trek uncoupled itself from official canon (by the villain Nero accidentally altering history), so why not do something really different?
Yawn. I’ve had my fill of Harry. Stop repeating the same stories already. I hope MJ is true to character this time, but given how bad the first movie is and how crummy Gwen turned out, I’m not holding out much hope. I know I’m not the only one who thought the first flick was overrated drivel.
I’m excited, I’ve heard great things about his acting, from In Treatment, and I absolutely adored Chronicle. So, I’m excited.
Haven´t seen Lawless yet, but I thought he was perfectly fine in Chronicle. Not sure if he would fit as Harry Osborn though. Apparently he has a role in Lincoln too.
