Weird Marvel Collectibles # 93-The Amazing Spider-Man: Pop-Up

Pop-Up Cover“Spider-Man Tastic!”

This was given to me as a gift a few years ago, and it still sits proudly on my shelf.

It’s a Spider-Man Pop-Up book, first published by Templar Books in 2007 in the United Kingdom.

It’s a short tome, featuring eight double-page Pop-Up spreads retelling Spider-Man’s origin, as well as his first battles with some of his most famous villains, including Green Goblin, Dr. Ock and Kraven the Hunter.

Most of the images are from the Lee/Ditko era so it feels like reading a Marvel Masterworks in 3D. The Mysterio page is a particular favourite.

The back cover suggests there are X-Men and Fantastic Four Pop-Ups also available, for the keen collector.

  1. I have this too. My kids always want to look at it and I have to carefully supervise them because it would be so easy to break/tear something. 🙂 I also love the Electro page, especially with the movie coming up, it’s great to see him in his classic costume–and in 3-D no less!
