Sony sent over the box art of the upcoming Amazing Spider-Man 2 blu ray. It will be released on DVD and Blu Ray on August 19th. Entertainment Weekly got the details on the bonus features. They include:

I don’t remember hearing it, because I didn’t pay much attention to the background music, but I noticed a distinct lack of Hans Zimmer’s signature ‘Bwomm’. I’m not sure if I should be disturbed or pleased by this.
It’s not an *awful* movie, parts of it are really good. Garfield is an excellent Peter/Spidey, the fights are great, Peter and Gwen scenes, the death. But there is soooo much stuff that is either bad or just boring. Peter’s parents takes up SO MUCH of the movie and I’m sorry but I just don’t care about them. There were only three times I ever thought about Peter’s parents in the comics – finding out they were spies in ASM Annual #5, the robot parents storyline, and the flashbacks in The Child Within. Other than those, they have never been part of the character that I cared about or wanted to learn more about. It wouldn’t be so bad if this was a minor part of the Amazing movies but they are the main plot. For me, there is good stuff in the movie, but that bad stuff far outweighs it.
I can understand that when Sony decided to reboot the franchise they knew they would have to do something to make the new films different from the Raimi trilogy. I don’t know who suggested “Hey, let’s focus on Peter’s parents as the main storyline in all the movies” but I think they are the Sony equivalent of Terry Kavanaugh suggesting the 90s Clone Saga (and as we know, “there’s no place hot enough in hell for him”).
I loved the movie and can’t wait to see it again! Yeah,I know I’m one of the very few,but the more people go on and on and on about all the flaws and how much they hated it,the more I love it. Don’t care what anyone says,I was entertained and look forward to the next one. I’m not a nipicker,like so many socalled fanboys,so I guess I have that advantage,lol! Of course,some would call that a disadvantage,but I know when I like something or when I’m bored with it,I’m still critical,just don’t pick everything apart or overanalyze it. Plain and simple. lol.

I think I may be the only person who actually sort of liked this film… I still much prefer the first two Raimi films to this new series, but I thought that Amazing Spider-man 2 was a pretty solid blockbuster. The plot had plenty of threads, but unlike Spider-Man 3 they seemed to connect with one another quite naturally, all under the umbrella of Oscorp as opposed to a bunch of shit randomly happening all at once. Andrew Garfield’s performance also came probably the closest to the comic book version of Spider-Man that we’ve seen on-screen. I really liked the films version of Electro, he was a little underused but in my opinion he stole the show whenever he appeared. Many are pissed at how Norman just dies with barely any screen-time, but that’s definitely not going to last, I doubt that they’d just cast a relatively well known actor in the role of Spidey’s greatest enemy solely to give him a death scene. Gwen’s death scene was also one of the saddest moments I’ve ever seen in a comic book movie, even more sad than in the comics, since the Gwen of the film was an excellent character from beginning to end and thus it felt like a real loss when she went, whereas the Gwen of the comics had become a rather flat character by the time she departed.
Yeah, I saw this on EW.com yesterday. August 19th is a very quick turnaround. It’s being released before Cap2, which was in theaters a month before ASM2
When I read the featurette title “Lessons Learned: Development and Direction” yesterday I thought “I wonder what George’s reaction to that title will be?” It will be what they learned from ASM1 and used to make ASM2, but I would much rather it be what they learned after they read the audience and critical reaction to this movie and how it changed (hopefully) their plans for ASM3
