  1. @Al Yes, you’re right about DeMatteis. I named Straczynski because his run with Romita Jr. in Amazing marked my adolescence and is the one I remember the most.

  2. If Slott is allowed to Kill Mary Jane Peter’s best friend in the whole wide world….. NO MATTER WHAT in issue 800 of Amazing Spider-Man this is what I know will happen to Marvel comics as a publishing company NOT ONLY A MASSIVE amounts of MIDDLE FINGERS FROM Marvel comic fans, but general public comic book fans as well. MARVEL WILL BE ALWAYS ADMITING on the publisher side of things that THEY WANT TO DECLARE TRUE BANKRUPTCY because all they want is to bleed themselves dry!

  3. @KingHealbilly I’m having that exact same fear right now – and I wouldn’t put it past any of the involved parties!

  4. @King HealBilly
If he goes that far, I may get banned from this site due to all the cursing I wind up doing at him.

  5. … on a bridge. Norman throws MJ off. Peter tries to save her but when his webbing catches her it breaks her neck …

  6. I have this pit in my stomach that Slott is going to kill Mary Jane. Slott will probably say Osborn saw some news clip of Spider-man leaving Mary Janes window and then kidnap her. Lazy writing, so I hope I’m not right. I might be done with Marvel if they let Slott kill her. I just can’t help but notice Mary Jane is not in the pic for amazing #1 relaunch. I am probably just paranoid, but issue 801 can’t come soon enough.

  7. So, based on the preview for #797, did Norman kidnap MJ or Bobbi?
    .
Because the structure seems to point at MJ, but that might be a little too on the nose.
    .
And who wants to bet that Slott may drag “Sins Past” back into the spotlight?

  8. So Venomised is Spider Verse then but with Venom?

This is all so underwhelming. Nothing really screams ‘Must buy’

  9. After reading the preview of The Amazing Spider-Man #797, I realized how much I miss the way Straczynski wrote Peter and MJ. I think Straczynski was the only writer who understood the importance of MJ in Peter’s life and treated their relationship in a sincere and mature way. My favorite issue is The Amazing Spider-Man Vol. 2 #50, where MJ returns and reconciles with Peter. On the final page, MJ and Peter walk together hugging each other and Mary Jane says: “This won’t be easy, you know that” and Peter replies: “I know. But it’s worth it. You’re worth it. You’re worth it and I love you and I need you. Welcome back, MJ. Welcome back.”
