Five of the Best Spider-Man Experiences Available on Mobile

5 of the Best Spider-Man Experiences Available on Mobile

It is probably a bit of an understatement to say that our favorite web-slinger has enjoyed success in a host of different areas in recent years.

For instance, when he’s not been tearing up the big screen in Marvel Studios movies or the Oscar-winning animation Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, he’s been receiving rave reviews in the video gaming world for his adventures on the PlayStation 4. Furthermore, he remains a huge draw in his natural home, the fantastical world of comic books.

Another area where he has a strong presence is in the mobile domain, an area which has grown in prominence in the past couple of decades as the technology used in smartphones and tablets has evolved.

A major part of our lives

Mobile devices are simply a vital part of life for many of us nowadays and that was thrown into sharp focus by research released by App Annie earlier this year. The study revealed that 204 billion app downloads took place worldwide in 2019, with consumers spending on average three hours and 40 minutes a day on such devices across the same period.

Smartphones and tablets have become a multipurpose tool we use for so many activities, including streaming the latest movies and TV shows on sites like Netflix. It has become common to browse and buy products from sites like Amazon on them, while other entertainment industries have embraced the technology too. Online casinos like Betway include slots and traditional games like roulette and blackjack via both a mobile-optimized website and a specialist app. But it’s not just entertainment and e-commerce: we also do not think twice these days about banking on mobile, as well as making payments through services such as Apple Pay or PayPal.

Considering how important mobile is now to our day-to-day lives, it makes sense that pop culture icons like Spider-Man have a strong presence in this area. But what are the best apps and games out there which feature Stan Lee’s iconic creation? Here is a diverse rundown of some of the best we’ve encountered.

1. Marvel Contest of Champions

There are plenty of great official Marvel mobile apps available at the moment, but one of the best games is definitely Contest of Champions. Spidey is one of a number of the comic book giant’s famous names to be featured in the title, which sees The Collector summon you to take part in a major battle. You get to tackle a host of characters in a range of classic settings including Wakanda and the Avengers Tower.

2. Spider-Drone

This app admittedly comes with a fairly major caveat – that you have to own the official Spider-Man Homecoming Edition Spider-Drone to use it with. The app allows you to stream and capture live video from the unit, while it also includes a few notable extras including a flight manual and an achievement checklist.

3. Amazing Spider-Man 2nd Screen

Fans of Andrew Garfield’s debut as Peter Parker in The Amazing Spider-Man can get more out of watching the movie back with this app. It can be synced to the Blu-ray copy of the film to offer a full second-screen experience, including access to production notes and scene-specific content including cast interviews.

4. Marvel Collect! By Topps

Another exciting way to experience Spider-Man on your mobile is to get involved in Marvel Collect! By Topps. The app allows you to collect digital cards featuring your favorite Marvel characters and then trade with other people from across the world. Players can also complete daily missions, earn awards and unlock various achievements.

5. LEGO Marvel Super Heroes

Our final choice is this app from Warner Bros International Enterprises. The game is yet another which features Spider-Man alongside a host of classic characters from the Marvel universe, with each of them being perfectly recreated in Lego. There are 45 missions to enjoy and many famous faces can be unlocked as you progress.

Plenty to explore and enjoy

As all of the above shows, there are so many different ways to experience all things Spider-Man on your smartphone or tablet. Whether you’re looking for simple gaming fun, something to enhance your movie experience or a bit of card collecting, there is plenty to enjoy.
