  1. I guess this story is supposed to be like starting Back to the Future Part II in media res, but without having any complete idea about how to explain its events.

With an inverted story like that, unfortunately, the “Why is this happening?” loses its appeal very quickly. I love when a payoff demonstrates that the writer(s) had an attention to detail that indicates that purposeful planning. In other words, I’d love for this resolution to work, but everything I’ve seen so far has just lead to more questions, and not the kind that lend enthusiasm to anticipation of the outcome.

It’s kind of weird to have time-displaced characters in the middle of an X-Men crossover, when those characters aren’t themselves X-Men.

  2. So I guess the guy in the hoodie is Paul, Peter tries to escape with Paul and MJ but only he makes it and they’re left trapped, Peter tries to steal the FF’s time machine and works with Norman Osborn to rescue them, and by the time he succeeds a few years have passed for them and MJ has had two kids and fallen in love with Paul. (Probably MJ also got her powers when trapped, since Wayeb is associated with bad luck in Mayan mythology and MJ’s powers rely on chance.)
One thing bothers me, though- why would the FF refuse to help Peter? I can’t imagine the FF leaving two innocent people trapped in a hazardous dimension/future/ whatever. And if they did, why would the other heroes act like PETER was the one in the wrong, and not the FF for leaving two people to die? There’s either something we don’t know or this is bad writing.
