I review the Free Comic Book Day 2026 issue of Amazing Spider-Man by Joe Kelly and John Romita Jr. As well as the sneak peak of the upcoming Queen in Black storyline and Infernal Hulk storyline that will involve Miles Morales and Bailey Biggs. One of the better FCBD issues for Amazing Spider-Man using an almost forgotten villain in this misinformation age.
Read’s Reads Amazing Spider-Man FCBD 2026 Review

When I saw The Answer I thought at first he’d be treated like a joke, when Slott brought back F.A.C.A.D.E. for two panels in an issue and treated him (and his mystery) as a joke. Glad to see that Kelly didn’t go that route. And the issue was resolved by hugging it out.
The fact that a word balloon covers up the first name on Cousin Crane’s genetics test is telling. Is it May? Ben? Richard? Which one of them is his parent?
I am even less excited for the Queen in Black story as I was for Death Spiral. They are both Venom/symbiote stories that Spidey is getting sucked into. I expect QIB to mean as much for the character of Spidey as DS did.
Also I read through that Infernal Hulk preview and had no idea it was a Hulk story until I saw “Infernal Hulk” on the editors’ page. Considering that most of the ASM readers don’t read that title and will have no idea who that character is, they should have done a better job identifying who he is and setting up what this is about.
@Ryan – Wow, you did get stuck reviewing this issue. I’m glad it wasn’t as painful for you as you thought it would be!
