Writer Peter David Passes Away at Age 68

It’s being reported by his wife Kathleen that writer Peter David, known for lengthy runs on “The Incredible Hulk”, “Aquaman”, and “Supergirl”, has unfortunately passed away at the age of 68 years old. While Peter David is immediately remembered for those runs, Mr. David has had a decades-long association with the Spider-Man character, as well. David was the co-creator of Spider-Man 2099, wrote the classic “Death of Jean DeWolff”, wrote the “Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man” comic series, and had even written several recent mini-series featuring Symbiote Spider-Man as the lead feature. David also wrote novel adaptations of the Raimi films, helped write the “Spider-Man: Edge of Time” video game, and who could forget “The Commuter Cometh” in “The Amazing Spider-Man” #267? David’s charm, wit, and humor, both as a person, and as a writer, will be sorely missed. We here at the Spider-Man Crawlspace would like to offer our condolences to Peter David’s family during this difficult time.

  1. Yep! It was the first episode we did with him. Really hard to hear about this. I was bummed most the day yesterday because of it.

Brad got to interview him 3 times and each time was a joy to listen to.

    Episodes 8, 162 and 700.

  2. Since I can’t edit my previous comment, just let me clarify. This was an interview episode, not a message board episode. But Brad was taking submitted questions from the message board, and one was from Venom65437, whose handle PAD had a humorous question about.

  3. Was it PAD who commented on Venom65437’s (?) handle during a message board episode?
