Sony Pictures is wanting to turn out more Spider-Man movies over the next few years. Variety is reporting that James Vanderbilt has been hired to write the screenplay for Spider-Man 5 &6. The two movies will allegedly connect with each other. Vanderbilt was hired to write Spider-Man 4, but Director Sam Rami hired two people to re-write his work.
It is unsure if Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, and Raimi will return for any more movies past Spider-Man 4.
What do you think? Should the original team be back for 5 & 6 or by that time would it be good to have some fresh blood? Leave your comments below.

I think the original team should stay entirely not all of the crew but at least tobey and kristen but rami…ehhhhh
New actors would be cool. I am excited for future installments, but would be even more excited if i knew that it was going to be a new line up.
As long as they do the Hobgoblin for 5 and the Sinister Six for 6, I’ll be happy.
The actors don’t fit the parts well enough, and the director/writers don’t follow the source material well enough. This may be harsh sounding, but I’m a huge Sam Raimi fan (I love every movie he is a part of*) and I really like and have lost of respect for Maguire and Dunst, but they just don’t do the source material justice (In my oppinion.) My main problem with Tobey is his quietness (as we all know Spidey is brutally obnoxious) but that is the writers fault more than his. He doesn’t really look that much like comic Peter to me, but that’s just being picky (if he does leave the series, hopefully they find a stronger outlined person, if you know what I’m trying to say [not sarcasm]). The problem with “MJ” is more the character direction than the actor (as with “Peter”) since they pretty much made her a Gwen instead of MJ. Hell, they should just digitally edit the film to change her hair color and name and let her BE Gwen (aside from minor details, like her being the popular girl and stuff). So I guess, in reflection, it took me that paragraph to say its all the writers fault, haha. /endrant.
*Spider-Man 1-3 were GREAT movies. Great Spider-Man movies? No, and 3 was far from it. But as a stand alone series, people don’t give it the credit it deserves.
I don’t mind everything being personally connect to Peter. Just like the cartoons, everything can somehow be connected back to peter through character relationships. However, I also believe a reboot is needed, but many people still think that maguire and dunst need at least one more shot after 3.
I think they’re making a mistake bringing Raimi, Tobey and Dunst back for number 4, let alone if they returned for 5 & 6. The series needs to be rebooted, with Peter being 15 years of age again. Just take a look at how well written the new cartoon show is. Now that is classic Spider-Man for old Spidey fans like myself, yet it’s still fresh enough to draft in a younger generation.
Raimi’s films, while good (especially no 2) are way too heavy on the melodrama, with everything being personally connected to Peter in some way shape or form. But that’s just my opinion guys.
