Quesada: “a Spidey Spawn book sounds like a blast!”

VenomEarly this week, George Berryman posted a news story concerning the possible return of Todd McFarlane to Spider-Man. Since then Comicbook.com has approached Marvel for a comment on their original story.

Their Chief Creative Officer, Joe Quesada, responded:

“With respect to Todd, let’s face it, there have been a handful of creators who have worked on Spidey who have left a legendary imprint and he’s is certainly one of them so of course we’d love to work with him again and doing a Spidey Spawn book sounds like a blast! Personally I just think the fans would love to see it and I think we’d all have a lot of fun doing it not to mention how much our retail community would welcome the influx of dollars brought in by the sheer number of people walking into their stores brought on by the media buzz alone”.

One step closer to a Spider-Man/Spawn crossover. Time will tell on this one.

  1. I’d actually buy this. It’d give comic shops a good shot in the arm cash wise if both Marvel and McFarlane cross promoted it with merchandising, etc. It could be a breath of fresh air compared to all the damn reboots and events du jour.

  2. *Facepalm* And here I thought Quesada couldn’t hit new lows after OMD, OMIT and Daredevil:Father.

  3. Venom looked so much more creepier when he was drawn like that, instead of with the sharp teeth and the tongue and the drool.
