While I'm not helping my students above the age of fifty, get to grips with new technology, I keep myself busy by staying up-to date on new tech, as well as picking and choosing specific items for my Spidey collection, and one of these I hope to add a unique Silver Sable piece to it.

JR has been hard at work updating his website. He’s got opinions on our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, and he’s sharing them with the ‘net. He is doing some catch up by reviewing Spider-Man in 2006. […]

@David Blyth and Aqu@ — I agree. I believe they’re doing something similar with Miles Morales, as well. I was stunned, once Spider-verse concluded, that there was a Spider-Geddon event. Then we had Venom-verse, as well. If the intention is to explore what makes Gwen, or Miles, or whomever, a hero apart from the particular powerset, why not just tell that story in a single book? The 616 Gwen is dead and will, presumably, be missing. She’s the most important of them all, and I’d argue it was only in her death that she became significant. One would hope there’s at least a nod or acknowledgement of that in this book.
And this is where the concept of the Spider-Verse well and truly jumps it as far as sharks go. There is absolutely no need for this and just totally cheapens Gwen as a character. This takes her sainthood to ridiculous extremes. Now she’s this exceptional, and all-important cornerstone of every reality she is a part of and not just an innocent, flawed and unassuming victim caught in the crossfires between two bitter rivals that sets off a catalyst of organic and naturally evolving events. The story of the everyman is well and truly over.
Why.
