BD Commentary: We’re jumping in the clone saga with both feet. I’m all about it and I hope this villain Raptor has a cool origin.

As Raptor tightens the noose on Peter and those he loves, the turbulent days of the Clone Saga comes back to haunt Peter Parker in part two of this three part epic!
32 PGS./Rated A …$2.99

BD Commentary: The covers by Adi Granov looks very, very cool. His work on Iron Man was awesome! I’m also excited to see Luke Ross come back and pencil Spidey. He was learning the ropes right after the Clone Saga wrapped up and he had some tough shoes to fill when Sal Buscema left the Spectacular Spider-Man book. I’ve seen his stuff on Captain America and he’s really grown as an artist.

The brand-new, state of the art WEB OF SPIDER-MAN! THRILL! To the return of KAINE, the ill-fated Peter Parker Clone – where has he been all these years? Where is he now? And how does it tie into KRAVEN?! Then – MARVEL! At the continuing adventures of May-Day Parker, The Spectacular Spider-Girl! And More! Get caught in the web this October!
48 PGS./Rated A …$3.99

BD Commentary: This is the best looking cover of the month. I really hope the book does well. Spider-Girl deserves a nice home and I think Web will work out well. The biggest problem with Amazing Spider-Man Family was the price and the fluff.  It seems they’ve gotten the hint. A strong Spider-story and Spider-Girl in the book for a cheaper price sounds like a good buy in my opinion.

BD Commentary: I don’t pick this book up, but the covers have been great. Too bad it doesn’t sell. I’m sure it does well in trades.

  1. The art in the Marvel Adventures cover reminds me of Spectacular Spider-man the Animated Series.

  2. Marvel Adventures Spider-Man is the leader in Marvel titles with home subscriptions, by a mile in fact, so the title is likely safe from cancellation. Also, as you pointed out, MA titles do well in trades. They are always present at every book fair at my daughter’s school and are readily available in major bookstores.

  3. And so Ben makes his way back into the Marvel-verse. I truly hope that this will serve to better support the idea of a continuing Ben Reilly series.

  4. Brad, opinions as wrong as yours about 1602 are a known carcinogen, so be careful. That said, I have zero interest in the line when Gaiman isn’t involved.

  5. now brad i disagree i thought 1602 was very under-rated but since neil gaimon is off of it i dont think ill pick up that mini either, at least till it comes out in trade

  6. Where is Ultimate Spider-Man? Did the ultimate clone saga actually kill the comic this time?
