Read’s Reads Amazing Spider-Man #20/914 Review

After two weeks of less pain, I review the conclusion to Joe Kelly and the Dodson’s Spider-Man/Black Cat Date from you nowhere and that’s exactly where it can go. While there is some great dialogue between Black Cat and White Rabbit, that is all. Even the artwork feels phoned in. This is a very, very bad issue and I’m not afraid to say it all.

  1. Thanks Mark. I’m always looking for hope on dark days. We will see what this arc will do. Either way we all will know in a couple of weeks.

  2. Nice F song! Can’t wait for the remix!

You know, I’m feeling strangely optimistic about the upcoming story. I’m quite positive it is unwarranted, but he’s wanted to tell this story for a while now and he’s taking extra time off here (thus the “guest” writer) to, I’m guessing, put his best effort into it. At this point, for you, after 4 Fs in a row, is it possible to enjoy the next arc. Could the next arc make you say that all the weird actions before were actually in character? I think for some readers, the bridge to too far burnt to be redeemed.

Now I don’t know if he WILL to craft a story that makes it worth the crap that came before it, but for whatever reason, I’m ready to give it a chance. If nothing else, we can be done with this six month mystery and move on to something else (hopefully a new Spider-Office).
